Andrea Garcia, Executive Director Andrea started at the Pojoaque Boys & Girls Club in 2010 as a Youth Leader and moved her way up. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) in 2016 from New Mexico Highlands University. She was then accepted into the accelerated program for Masters in Social Work at New Mexico Highlands. She earned her Master in Social Work (MSW) in the spring of 2017. Andrea was signed on as a National Training Associate for Boys & Girls Club of America in 2014, earned the Regional Native Spirit Award in 2015 and is now sitting on the Native Advisory Committee for BGCA's Native Services. Her passion is to work with children and families and be able to make a difference in the lives of the youth.
Lauren Saucedo, Education Director Lauren is a proud graduate of Pojoaque Valley High School, class of 2005. Following High School she attended the University of New Mexico and earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She started with the Pojoaque Boys & Girls Club while attending University in 2008 and serves as the Education Director putting together curriculum for the Club members. She makes learning fun and offers competitive games in the Education room to promote a love for learning.
John Santos, Fine Arts Director John is originally from Northern California and has been working with communities and youth since the mid 90's. He got started painting murals with Precita Eyes Mural Arts & Visitors Center. John is the father of two children and has been living in NM for 12 years. He thinks NM is a unique and beautiful place which he has grown to love.
Dora Gomez, Youth Leader Dora graduated from Capital High School in 2014. She is from Santa Fe, NM and recently just graduated from school of massage. She will be returning to school for physical therapy. She serves as one of the advisors for Torch Club. Dora enjoys bonding with the kids and implementing healthy lifestyles and will be running the Triple Play program starting this summer.
Edwin Fierro, Youth Leader Edwin graduated from Pojoaque Valley High School in 2013. He attended University of New Mexico and studied sports medicine. He will be returning in the fall. Edwin was also a member of the Pojoaque Boys & Girls Club starting at age 6. He was a member of Torch Club, Keystone, and participated in the Money Matters program. He enjoys playing basketball and is the advisor for the Tribal Youth Council.
Bianca Cole, Youth Leader Assistant Bianca is a senior at Pojoaque Valley High School. She has been a member of the Pojoaque Boys & Girls Club since she was 6 years old and has taken on many roles. Throughout her time at the Club she has participated in Torch Club as the president, Keystone as the president, became Junior Staff at age 15, and is now a staff member and role model to the other members. Bianca was named State Junior Youth of the Year in 2014 and Youth of the Year on the local level in 2016. Bianca is a true leader and enjoys hanging out with the younger members and being a person they can look up to.
Karlie Trujillo, Summer Youth Leader Karlie is currently attending a university in Colorado Springs, where her and her husband reside. Karlie has been with the Boys & Girls Club movement for about 5 years and has worked with Pojoaque Boys & Girls Club for the past 4 years. She has left and returned to work the Summer Program. Karlie is energetic and loves to work with the kids.
Gary Johnson, Summer Youth Leader Gary is graduated from Pojoaque Valley High School in 2014. He was awarded a full paid scholarship to Marquette University through Boys & Girls Club of America. He just completed his junior year at Marquette and will be graduating with his Bachelors in International Affairs and Political Science. Gary was a member of the Pojoaque Boys & Girls Club starting at the age of 6 and was a part of many programs. He was a member of Torch Club, Keystone, won Junior Youth of the Year in 2008, and also served as a Junior Staff member. He continues to give back to the Club because of the impact it made for him.
Elias Archuleta, Summer Youth Leader Assistant Elias graduated from Espanola Valley High School in 2015. He currently attends University of New Mexico and wants to pursue a degree in fire fighter science and exercise science. He enjoys the outdoors, working with youth, and the family oriented staff at the Club.
Brittney Gutierrez, Summer Youth Leader Assistant Brittney graduated from Pojoaque Valley High School in 2016. She currently attends New Mexico HIghlands University and is pursuing her degree in early childhood development. She has a passion for working with kids. This will be her third summer returning to the Club.
Michael Morris, Summer Youth Leader Assistant Michael graduated from the Masters Program at the Santa Fe Community College in 2016. He currently attends the Santa Fe Community College and is pursuing a degree in radiologic technology. He enjoys playing soccer, guitar, and writing poetry.
Miranda Lujan, Assistant Director Miranda began her journey at the Pojoaque Boys & Girls Club in 2008 as a 17 year old student of Pojoaque High School. Since then, Miranda has worked her way up from Youth Leader Assistant to Assistant Director and has ran many programs in between. While working at the Boys & Girls Club, she also obtained her AAS in Massage Therapy and is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. The Club is Miranda's first and only job. Upon application she never would have expected to have such a love and passion for working with kids. She loves what she does, which makes her job easy.
Annette Arvizu, Technology Director Annette started with the Boys & Girls Club movement at a Club in California in 2008. Upon moving to New Mexico, she was hired on as a Youth Leader and has moved her way up to the Technology Director. Annette has spent the past two years as the Stardancer coach and just this past year served as the Torch Club advisor. She has a passion for working with youth and serves as a good role model for our Club members.
Josie Viarrial, Senior Youth Leader Josie has been with the Club since 2006. She has worked with kids for the past 15 years. According to Josie, she has made the Boys & Girls Club her career because "the kids have her heart". Josie sees the Club as a place to make a difference in the lives of the youth we serve. She has been able to be a solid support system for the teens at the Club. To them she is a mother figure and a safe place. Josie loves cooking and doing art. Josie serves on the 2017 Native Summit committee for Boys & Girls Club of America's Native Services. She was asked to join because of her artistic abilities and to and to share her cultural background.
Christian HIll, Youth Leader Assistant Christian is currently a senior at Pojoaque Valley High School. He loves to sing, dance, act, and be at the Boys & Girls Club. Christian loves life, playing four square, and overall having a rocking time! He wants to continue working with the Boys & Girls Club movement even after High School, as it is his dream. He plans to get his degree in Social Work following High School and use his knowledge to give back to the Boys & Girls Club.
Ashlynn Martinez, Youth Leader Assistant Ashlynn will be a senior at Pojoaque Valley High School. She started as a member in 2009 . She was an active member of Torch Club, Keystone, and earned the title of Junior Staff in the spring of 2016. She kept working hard and giving her time to the Club and later earned a position as a paid staff member. She has a heart for kids with disabilities.
Alyssa Lujan, Web Developer Alyssa started with the Pojoaque Boys & GIrls Club in 2007. Following High School she went to University of New Mexico and is currently finishing at the School of Pharmacy. While attending University, she has continued her dedication to the Club by maintaining our website and social media sites.
Abigail Lopez, Summer Youth Leader Abby recently graduated from Fort Lewis College with her Bachelors in Engineering. This is her third summer working at the Club for the Summer Program in between going to college. Abby enjoys working with the kids which makes her continue to come back.
Dominick Baca, Summer Youth Leader Dominick is a proud graduate of Pecos High School and a graduate from New Mexico Highlands University. He played basketball for Highlands and is currently a coach for the Pecos High School basketball team, which he led to win their first State Championship in 51 years!
Jasmine Archuleta, Summer Youth Leader Assistant Jasmine graduated from Pojoaque Valley High School in 2016. She currently attends New Mexico Highlands University and is pursuing her degree in political science. She enjoys hanging out with the kids at the Club and this will be her second summer returning. Jasmine enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Alexis Trujillo, Summer Youth Leader Assistant Alexis is a recent graduate of Espanola High School. She served as the student body Vice President, treasurer for National Honor Society, and is a shadow student at the Espanola Presbyterian Hospital. She was also an active member of the Pojoaque Boys & Girls Club from 2006-2012. She has been accepted into the School of Nursing at the University of New Mexico and will be starting in the fall of 2017.
Andres Cerquera, Summer Youth Leader Assistant Andres recently graduated from the Masters Program at the Santa Fe Community College. He plans on pursuing his degree in Psychology at the University of New Mexico. He will graduate with his Associates degree soon because of the opportunity to take college classes during High School. Andres enjoys having fun, being active, and simply enjoying life!
