Youth of the Year
Requirements:
Candidates should be at least 14 and no more than 18 years of age by January 31st of the year in which they are entered in the state program. Nominees, age 10 to 13 can be identified for participation in the Junior Youth of the Year Competition.
Candidates for state and regional levels must have a record of active and continuing service in their Club for at least two years prior to January 31st of the year in which they are nominated and have actively participated in programs at their Club. They also must attend their Club at least 51% of the time during that year.
All applications should be typed and fully completed, using only the Official Nomination Form. Letters of support should be attached to each category on the Official Nomination Form. There should be no more than two letters in each category. One newspaper article may be substituted for a letter.
In addition to the eligibility requirements listed here, candidates must also agree to comply with the expectations, duties and responsibilities listed in the Youth of the Year Program Fact Sheet and the Youth of the Year Job Description.
