America and Marquette University established the scholarship to honor
those students who have chosen to Be
The Difference in their community and, in turn, the world.

Exchange and is featured in an interview on Fox Business Live!
On Monday, April 26, 18-year-old Tamara Johnson of Santa Fe,
N.M., rang the NYSE Closing Bell in honor of being named the 2010
National Ambassador for the successful Money Matters: Make it Count financial literacy
program, sponsored by Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Charles
Schwab Foundation.
She
closes out her trip with another television interview on Tuesday
morning before getting on a plane to come back to us here in New Mexico!

represent Boys & Girls Clubs of America's and Charles Schwab
Foundation's financial education program!
Our very own Tamara Johnson, Youth Leader Assistant and Pojoaque
Valley High School Senior has been chosen for the prestigious honor
of serving as the National Ambassador for Boys & Girls Clubs of
America's Money Matters: Make it
Count program.
As the 2010 Money Matters Ambassador,
Tamara will attend various events on behalf of BGCA and the program to
speak about the importance of financial education for teens. Her first
trip will be to New York later this month to ring the bell at the New
York Stock Exchange and close the day's trading session.
Tamara
also received a $10,000 scholarship from Charles Schwab Foundation,
sponsor of the Money Matters program. Congratulations,
Tamara! We are so proud of you!

Kool & the Gang visit!
Blue
Star Moms are mothers of military personnel stationed overseas. Their
organization helps collect items for the troops in Afghanistan and
Iraq. They borrowed our club to collect items and fill boxes to send
out to the troops for Christmas.

Interviews with past and present members of the Pojoaque Boys & Girls Club reveal what the club means to them. Sprinkled amongst the interviews are some highlights of our 2009 summer program at the club. Thanks to everyone - staff and members - that helped make this summer GREAT!

May 7th. You'll need to have your registration form completed
and the first week's payment. Don't miss out...this summer is going to
be a blast!
Open Registration For those that are not currently club members, open
registration for our summer program will be on Tuesday May 18th at
10 am provided there is space available. You will need to be
here at the club to sign your child up or place them on the waiting
list. Sorry, but we cannot take any registrations by phone.
Easter Egg Hunt Our 11th Annual Easter Egg Hunt was a huge
success! Over 12,000 eggs were filled and 300 prizes were given away!
